Food Waste Producers

The fresh produce supply chain produces 170,000 tonnes of food waste every year. Food waste is heavy and costly to transport. By implementing an on-site Bio Conversion Unit or sending your food waste to a locally managed unit, you can save time and money and reduce your carbon footprint. Black soldier fly larvae will eat almost any organic matter but it is best to mix grains, fruits, and vegetables together for an ideal meal. Waste producers are increasingly being asked by their customers to better valorise their food waste. Bio Conversion with insects fit exactly into this need. Waste producers often ask their existing or new waste handlers to adapt to this changing market.

Soldiers of Circularity

Organic waste can turn into methane in landfills, a potent greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. By diverting organic waste from landfills and using black soldier flies to process it, we can reduce emissions and create valuable products from waste.

Producers of waste suitable for bioconversion by our BSFL produce Animal By Product free (ABP free) waste such as Fruit and Vegetable waste, Bakery waste, Brewery or distillery waste or even Spent Coffee Grounds.  The list of potential substrates is very long and we are able and ready to test any substrates and feedback their suitability.

We are keen to work with waste producers to help facilitate a suitable site, to bring our expertise and knowledge and to give on-going support to ensure the effective understanding and valorisation of their waste streams
